Risk Management & Safety Investigations Training Course

Risk and Safety training course aimed at Managers and Supervisors

Introduction

Understanding the full implications of safety and how the relative maze of requirements, best practices and regulations all fit together can be challenging at the best of times. The Risk Management & Safety Investigations Training Course attempts to break down the elements of risk management into its component parts, enabling us to take a detailed look at how these relate to ground operations and ground handling.

The course starts by covering the basics of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and its four pillars before taking an in-depth look at the principles of hazard identification, mitigations and risk assessment, including Bow Tie and ALARP.

The second half of the course focuses on the principle elements of safety investigation techniques and how to gather the required information and start to come to conclusions about the root cause.

The course is very interactive and includes group exercises, group discussions and role play. For that reason, we find it best to run the course in person (as opposed to remotely).

The course is designed to be in conformance with the applicable elements of the latest version of IATA AHM 1110.

The duration of this course is two days.

1. Why is it important?

Understanding risk and how to manage it is an essential part of managing and supervising any ramp or airside operation. To reduce incidents and keep personnel safe, it is crucial to understand how to practically apply it, develop the ability to establish the who, what, when and why in an attempt to prevent its reoccurrence.

2. Who should attend?

The course is designed for management and supervisory teams directly or indirectly managing and overseeing the airside and/or ramp process.

Please note: we only provide this training course for our clients as an 'in company' training course. Unfortunately, we don't offer this course for private individuals.
