De/Anti-Icing training course covering all qualification levels from DI-L10 to DI-L70
Introduction
Aircraft & Ground De & Anti Icing courses are provided to cover all levels of De-Icing operatives and management and provides participants with the detailed knowledge and skills required to De & Anti-ice an aircraft. The courses cover the basic theories of the subject including fluids, equipment, weather and aerodynamics. The courses are designed to be conformant with the latest SAE International requirements for all qualification levels.
We offer training for the following SAE qualification levels:
DI-L10 - Deicing Vehicle Driver
DI-L20 - Deicing Operator
DI-L30 - Deicing Supervisor
DI-L30B - Pre/post Deicing Inspector
DI-L40 - Deicing Instructor
DI-L50 - Deicing Coordinator
DI-L60 - Fluid Quality Inspector (Laboratory staff only)
DI-L70 - Head of Deicing Training
DI-L80 - Flight Crew (Winter Operations)
DI-L80B - Cabin Crew (Icing Awareness)
Our de/anti-icing courses are highly practical, and are based on the latest industry standards and best practices. Supported by relevant real-world examples and case studies, participants gain an insight and understanding of de/anti-icing processes, why they are so important, and how to manage the risks and safety implications surrounding winter aircraft operations.
Note: Topics & duration will depend on respective SAE "Level of Qualification"
For management and supervisory ground staff, we can also offer our Aircraft Deicing Management Course, ideal for non-spraying management and supervisory teams who are required to oversee the the de/anti-icing process.
1. Why is it important?
Removal of all contamination from aircraft surfaces during cold and freezing weather is a must. The industry operates the "clean aircraft" concept to ensure that safety is never compromised and that all contamination is removed prior to flight.
2. Who should attend?
De-Icing Operator, De-Icing vehicle driver, De-Icing Supervisor, Inspector, Instructor, Coordinator & Head of Training. We can also provide training for Flight & Cabin Crew. See SAE AS6286 section 3.2 "Levels of Qualification" for applicable levels.
