Aircraft Turnaround Coordinator Training Course

Training for those supervising aircraft turnaround operations

Introduction

In today's busy handling environment, the role of the Turnaround Coordinator is an essential ingredient of any safe and efficient ramp operation. The complexities of the aircraft turnaround require a specific set of skills and know-how to synchronise all of the moving parts and keep the process on track.

However, the role is much more than just following the process. In a world that can change quickly, Turnaround Coordinators need to be observant, articulate, think on their feet and apply balanced decision-making skills.

The course starts with some basic airside safety principles before moving quickly up through the gears through Human Factors (HF), ramp operations and other key subjects before finally focussing on the specifics of the role itself.

The course is designed to be in conformance with the applicable elements of the latest version of IATA AHM 1110.

The duration of this course is 3 days.

This course is often combined with our Loadmaster and Dangerous Goods Awareness (Category 8) training courses. For those who require a more basic grounding in airside operations, try our Aviation Basics & Airside Safety training course.

1. Why is it important?

On-time departures (OTP), maximising the load opportunities and keeping our personnel safe are just some of the challenges faced during the aircraft turnaround process. The Turnaround Coordinator can focus on the overall process and the big picture, letting other key personnel focus on their specific tasks. Through working with turnaround plans and channelling critical information and data to those who need it, the Turnaround Coordinator provides that essential assurance that all ramp operations require.

2. Who should attend?

Turnaround Coordinators, Loadmasters, Ramp Supervisors, Ramp Agents, Aircraft Dispatchers and Team Leaders of a GHSP or an Airline would benefit from attending this course.
